Occupational Health and Safety Quiz
No, I have not created a quiz for you. I want you to create a quiz for your classmates.
Please watch this video about OH&S: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4RKY9u-S8TU
Are you going to do something this stupid in the kitchen? OH&S is about about being sensible and thoughtful of yourself, others and the consequences of your actions.
To ensure that you fully understand the OH&S issues in the world in general, in the school and the kitchens in specific, I have created this task for you.
This resource is intended to go along with the eight module of Food for Special Occassions. The module is intended to help you learn a few new techniques and OH&S principles, as well as go over and perfect old techniques and principles including how to identify, assess and manage the risk of injury and OH&S issues associated with the handling of food.
Each practical class will introduce you to a new food technique including making a white sauce, chocolate tempering, folding in mousse, bread casings, and a variety of other techniques, as well as how to manage your time effectively.

Your task:
Make a quiz of 20 questions on OH&S in the food industry. For information about OH&S in the industry you can go online, to your text book or to all your old worksheets from the class.
Try to make the questions achievable, but difficult as this is going to be a class competition.
What you need to do:
Type up a quiz of 20 questions with space for answers, and a set of questions and answers and hand it in to Ms Brooker by the end of week 4 of term 4.
You will then all recieve five different quizzes which you have to complete in the theory class, to be returned to the creator of the quiz who will mark them and hand them back to Ms Brooker by the end of the week.
Whoever receives the highest marks for all five quizzes will be the winner and shall receive a prize and the title of Quiz Master.
The person doing the quiz must be able to find the answers in the text book Whole Food 2, online or in the information provided in class over the last two years.
To help write the questions, you might like to start questions with:
Which (which one, which tool...)
How (how would, how much, how often...)
Who (who is responsible, who recorded...)
Where (where does, where were, where would...)
When (when would, when was..)
What (what happened, what started, what was, what did...)
Why (why should, why shouldn't, why wouldn't...)
True and false questions
Multiple choice questions
Everyone needs to receive a total score of at least 90, and no less than 18/20 per quiz and correct answers supplied so you can better your self. If you do fall short, you will be provided with another quiz until you have at least 18/20 for five quizzes. This will be done outside of class time and will not be counted towards the Quiz Master title, but is neccessary to ensure a thorough understanding of OH&S which is vital in the food industry.
